AMERICAN VISIONARY ART MUSEUM
BALTIMORE USA
Artists in Residence May 2005
Cabaret Mechanical Theatre, Sue Jackson, Sarah Alexander, Akio Alexander and I gave some workshops in May 2-7, During our visit to the museum I also built a large automata called "Is Your Truth My Truth?" I was very inspired to see the wonderful works of untrained artists (amongst others some were or are psychiatric patients, prisoners, farmers, holocaust survivors etc) People with real stories. All the work is displayed in a beautiful building, The museum is the vision of Rebbeca Hoffberger run by dedicated people that work there.

Visiting The Exploratorium Museum
San Francisco USA
Artist in Residence September 2004
Building a larger version of "The Tickling Machine" was great fun, I was lucky enough to be looked after by Karen Wilkinson, Mike Petrich, Nicole Minor and Liz Keim. They all made me feel very welcome. This is a fascinating Museum where visitors and staff alike can discover many new things about the arts and the sciences This was the first time I worked in public. I learnt a lot from people I met.

Mike, Karen and I made a "Clapping Man". They wanted to see me carving and under my strict!! supervision they worked on a hand each and they did an excellent job.

We went to The Urban School of San Francisco. After visiting the Exploratorium Museum, the students came up with some clever ideas, producing some very interesting automata.
